PART ORIENTATION AND SEPARATION TO REDUCE PROCESS COSTS IN ADDITIVE MANUFACTURING

چکیده

Abstract Additive manufacturing offers great potential in geometric design through the layer-by-layer production of components. This is often used development additively manufactured components to make lighter. An even greater reduction mass possible if several are combined into a more complex component. However, as complexity increases, so do costs, due higher demand for supporting structure, reworking and longer time. Especially components, which poor use space available additive system, component separation can be useful way reducing costs. Therefore, procedure automated presented, determines an optimal cutting plane with respect The presented evaluated using two exemplary where costs up 54 % could achieved.

willingness to communicate in the iranian context: language learning orientation and social support

why some learners are willing to communicate in english, concurrently others are not, has been an intensive investigation in l2 education. willingness to communicate (wtc) proposed as initiating to communicate while given a choice has recently played a crucial role in l2 learning. it was hypothesized that wtc would be associated with language learning orientations (llos) as well as social suppo...

Laser Additive Manufacturing Process Planning and Automation

This paper presents a Laser Additive Manufacturing Process Planning (LAMPP) being developed at the University of Missouri-Rolla. The off-line planning recognizes difficult-to-build features from an STL file, selects optimal part orientation and building directions based on the skeleton information of the object geometry, and optimizes the sub-process sequences for deposition and machining. Duri...

Multi-Objective Accelerated Process Optimization of Part Geometric Accuracy in Additive Manufacturing

The goal of this work is to minimize geometric inaccuracies in parts printed using a fused filament fabrication (FFF) additive manufacturing (AM) process by optimizing the process parameters settings. This is a challenging proposition, because it is often difficult to satisfy the various specified geometric accuracy requirements by using the process parameters as the controlling factor. To over...

Thermal Stresses Associated with Part Overhang Geometry in Electron Beam Additive Manufacturing: Process Parameter Effects

For powder-bed electron beam additive manufacturing (EBAM), support structures are required when fabricating an overhang to prevent defects such as curling, which is due to the complex thermomechanical process in EBAM. In this study, finite element modeling is developed to simulate the thermomechanical process in EBAM in building overhang part. Thermomechanical characteristics such as thermal g...
